Space to Be Yourself

People from Western cultures need space and the ability to maintain their sense of individuality. It's become an integral part of all European based cultures, for better or worse. Many intentional communities in the past were unsuccessful because they didn't understand this simple basic reality and they imploded due to egoic clashing and in-fighting. The fact is that some members didn't feel they were getting their needs met.
A Lot of One's Own
Lack of sufficient energetic space is often one of those unmet needs and it amplifies any disharmonious tendencies that exist. Our solution to these types of problems is two-fold. First is our commitment to improve our communication skills and clearly state our needs to others. Second is the manner in which our community is designed. Every co-owner and/or family receives their own lot/parcel to create their personal lives. This helps them maintain an adequate amount of space and time for themselves, plus whatever else they need for a sense of well-being.
