Where We Are

Our coastline on the Caribbean
Our coastline on the Caribbean

Our community is located 5 km due west of the Caribbean coast and 8 km due north of the Panamanian border. By road, we are 5 km to the paved highway, 6 km to the nearest stores in Hone Creek, and 12 km to the very hip tourist town of Puerto Viejo, an alternative reggae mecca that's difficult to describe. Approximately 14 km to the north-east is Cahuita, a small, quiet, tourist town famous for it's Caribbean island culture and entrance to Cahuita National Park. Another park that also runs along the Caribbean coast, the Gandoca-Manzanilllo National Refuge, is located 25 km south-east of us. Furthermore, we are a 13 km drive to Bribri, our local municipality and a commercial center for the Bribri indigenous people.

A Uniquely Diverse Region

Multiple cultures and colors

This corner of Costa Rica is the most culturally diverse region in the entire country! Not only does it contain the majority of indigenous and Afro-Caribbean communities, but there are foreigners from all over the world - many of them now call this area their home.
