No matter what you think or feel about professional sports and business corporations, they have most certainly achieved an unprecedented level of success in the Western world. The most successful sports teams invariably seem to have created a group culture that meets the needs of the individual, and yet manages to place the success of the whole as paramount in importance.
If They Can, We Can
When accomplished skillfully, everyone is happy and feels fulfilled. This occurs throughout the management side of the business, as well as with the players on the field. To achieve a significant level of ego-less-ness with athletes who earn many millions of dollars per year is admirable, to say the least. Some of them even share how meaningful this is to them. In a nutshell, if "they" can do it, those of us living in intentional communities can do it too!
