Mission and Purpose
Not only are we committed to our personal growth and healing, we endeavor to consistently support each other on reaching our highest potential. By extension, through our community businesses, we will uplift humanity and global consciousness. Although we are open to all businesses in alignment with our values, serving others through our healing/retreat facilities is our primary focus.
Short-Term Goals
- Build the suspension bridge over our river.
- Finish renovating the last three volunteer/guest platforms.
- Finish building in parking lot, connect to city power, start to use the bodega space.
- Find someone to promote, manage, and host our platform and parking lot rentals.
- Pay off former co-owners.
Long-Term Goals
- Continue to attract new co-owners and members until we reach at least 36 purchased lots.
- Continue to create a community culture aligned with our highest ideals. We envision a new paradigm culture based on practical idealism, one that serves our deepest human needs!
- Continue to develop our communal fruit forest and gardens, with an emphasis on beauty in the most public areas.
- Build an amazing community center with a unique design.
- Build a retreat/healing facility in its designated spot.
- Build our Children's Educational Facility.
- Become financially solvent as a community (pay our debts and create positive cash flow).
- Create businesses, so community members don't need to leave to work abroad.
Food and Self-Sufficiency
Through permaculture inspired guidelines, we propose to grow as much of our own food as possible, with a goal of total sustainability. We are philosophically in alignment with veganism and the majority of our diet will continue to be consumed in its natural raw form. We propose to supply our retreat/healing centers with the majority of their produce. This will occur through sales by community members who grow it on their own lots. Our jointly worked community gardens and fruit forest will continue to provide food for members, guests, and volunteers.
Children and Future Generations
Ultimately, our long-term community visions must serve our children and future generations. As we continue to develop, we wish to attract more families with children and host our own schooling facility utilizing the most progressive teaching methods available.
Connected to Puerto Viejo
We presently experience ourselves as deeply connected to the larger Puerto Viejo community and our future activities will continue to enhance this connection.
Living in Service
Finally, we seek to consistently inspire ourselves and all human beings through living inspired lives of service to the whole of Creator/Creation.
